This RMS study is enrolling adults ages 18 to 55 who have a Relapsing form of Multiple Sclerosis (including Relapsing-Remitting and Active Secondary Progressive MS).
Those who qualify may receive*:
• No-cost study-related care from local doctors
• No-cost investigational study medication
• Compensation for your time
No health insurance or referrals needed.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an on-going autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS). By “autoimmune,” we mean that the body’s own immune system attacks certain tissue. In MS, the tissue covering nerve fibers in the brain, spinal cord, and eyes called the “myelin sheath” are affected. Much like the plastic around an electrical cord, the sheath protects these nerves so they can send electrical signals that control movement as well as other functions. However, when the sheath is damaged, scar tissue forms and disrupts communication between the brain and the body.
As a result, MS symptoms include things like speech problems, poor balance, gait changes, muscle numbness or weakness, and blurry vision, for example.
About 4 out of 5 of those with MS have relapsing-remitting disease, meaning there will be periods when symptoms will flare, followed by a period of remission when symptoms improve or go away.
As there is still no cure for MS, more treatment options are needed.
This Eli Lilly RMS study is now assessing an investigational MS medication that works in a more targeted way than many existing treatments, which may result in fewer side effects.
Researchers want to assess it at different doses to see if it can help reduce both the number of new brain lesions and symptom relapses—but we need volunteers. Rest assured that even if you choose to enroll, you may still leave the study at any time, for any reason. Act now to see if you may qualify.
